Gold Coast The innovative design practice wawank Architects designed the classic beach house, a modern twist by using a lightweight construction.
Architect and Design of Light Home Ambassador Denman Shane, Shane Denman Architects, said wawank Sunbrite residence is an excellent example of how a lightweight construction can be used to emulate the old style beach house is located on the coast of Queensland.
“It refers to the house on the beach and traditional materials used in the original beach houses,” he said.
“This new [the project], but it fits well with traditional houses around it, avant-garde style and design.”
Denman says that one of the best things of residence Sunbrite is its position at the rear of the site, created for customers of its “clean little oasis.”
“Moving the house to the rear of the site also allows more sun and the breeze of summer left in the region,” he said. “It was very well planned.”
The residence was built entirely with light as a coating scyoni Linea weatherboard, with all the wooden frames of sustainable forest source.
The only thing that is not light in the house is a concrete one meter above the ground, an option agreement Denman.
“It allows the thermal mass and the breeze,” he said.
The slab allows the base of the warm home during the day in winter and keep heat to warm the night.
According to Denman, the house was “well planned and designed to suit the Australian climate,” and the general appearance would not have been achieved with the construction of serious weight without increasing costs.
“You could have made an appearance similar to home,” he said. “It would have been much more expensive because of heavy materials, the costs of excavation, cost and time of concrete on the site.”
“The lightweight structures are much more profitable over time, and take a couple of months the cost of construction,” he said.
Denman said that the main feature of the house is the simplicity of the materials used.
“Using Linea cladding really emulates the style of the old beach house,” he said.
“It’s very well done.”
